MASHUP Pop-Up Shop

Today was the opening party of MASHUP Pop Up Shop in Helsinki. MASHUP is a collaboration shop of independent talented Finnish designers that present and sell their products in their pop up shop for a limited 2 week period.

One of my absolutely favourite Finnish brands, Sulokas, is also represented there. So I paid a visit to their opening party tonight with my dear friend Clara and met the talented designer behind the bags, Sini Tanninen.

I'm going to write more about these fabulous bags later, but here is a sneak peak of their product line. The cluch, my favourite product!

If you're in Helsinki, do pay a visit to this lovely shop in address Unioninkatu 25. Here is the list of brands represented and the opening hours:

My dress: Ivana Helsinki
My bags: Ted Baker and Sulokas
My jacket: H&M
My scarf: Guess

My First Studio

My yesterday's post put me on a trip to the memory lane and I got to thinking about my first own studio, the place where it all began.

I think it was year 2010 or 2011 when I rented a room in an artist commune in Tapanila in an old car factory. It was a place for me to study art history and to design and sew clothing. I wanted to keep the colours in the neutral because I work with colours. In this room I started my very own company and later opened a pin-up shop downstairs.

I absolutely loved working in this environment and I love how I decorated it. Here it is:

I think our new studio has a bit same feeling, don't you?

Our New Studio Is ready!

Well ladies and gentlemen,

I'm proud to represent to you a project I've been working on for the last couple of weeks with my dear friend Arabellum's husband Mika! Our studio has move to a new better location and I must say I'm so happy to be here after the dark and dusty Jätkäsaari location. Now we have a neat and light spacious studio in a wonderful location in Helsinki's center of creativity, Arabia!

We had this space a couple of weeks ago and made a really big renovation to it. We renewed the walls, painted them and the floor, put big mirrors to the walls etc. For the last two or three weeks this has been taking all of my time, so I'm deeply sorry if I have not had the time to reply to all the messages. For the last couple of days I have done my best to catch up with everything. I was also too busy to update the blog, but here I am again! And now I have a new place where I can do all the things i love: photographing, modelling, styling, sewing, embroidering, burlesque dancing, designing and making clothes etc. <3

I love how much light and space we have!

It's all about details

Wall of fame ;)

Stylish and cosy <3

Props for photo shootings and performances

What a great place for burlesque practices!

A happy girl in her studio
We have enough space for a photography studio, my design studio, and a real dance floor with mirrors to dance burlesque any time I want to! This place reminds me from the studio I had when I started my own company. I had then a room in an artist society and I had decorated it black and white. This new studio has the same good feeling, and when I look around I see how far I've become from that. I'm so grateful for life and proud of the work I've done. Now I have a perfect place to continue further making my dreams come true! And the best part is, i have such wonderful people to share this space with: Arabellum, Dixie Feathers and Ani! <3
